With the sunny and warm temperatures it’s easy to see how over 170,000 Canadians country-wide participated in the Run for the Cure this year. More than $30 million raised in donations and support funds. Although Durham Region residents were only a small number of the grand total, hundreds of supporters flocked to Lakeview Park in Oshawa on this sunny October weekend morning to run or walk in support of their friends, families, neighbours, selves, and other loved ones.

Along with enjoying the weather and coming out to support a good cause, North Shore Amateur Radio Club members provided emergency communications assistance between the event organizers and run volunteers at checkpoints.
