After weeks of on-and-off rain, everyone was happy to see the sun shining throughout the whole day during Ride4UnitedWay! Thanks to our net control team, we were able to tackle any issues that came up – including some missing sweepers at the ending portion of the course. As many of you know, Larry VA3FHG is our North Shore representative whenever discussing with United Way. This year Larry was pleased with the results and mentioned that it was a great year for us:

“We are communicators, and good at what we do. Sometimes we need to be more than communicators, and the club came through again this year: Steve VA3TPS took the food to the Howden Road rest stop and stayed there the entire day. Joe VE3VGJ was at the East Water Stop without race officials. Clint VA3KDK tracked down a rider and removed the timing chip and delivered it to HQ. Thanks to all our other members who manned the roads and kept the riders safe. The compact route made communications easier.”
