A very nice memorial service was held at the site of Camp X to commemorate the 70th anniversary of VE Day.  The celebration was complete with displays of WWII equipment that would have been used by the brave people who were sent to the European theatre as spies.  Also, our very own Bob VE3HIX and Jeffrey VA3RTV did a presentation on radio equipment and made several attempts to communicate with Bletchley Park in England.  Camp X was not only a spy training facility but also a Hydra radio operations centre where coded messages were sent between Britain and Canada to help defeat the Axis.

CBC, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, was on-site and Bob and Jeffrey were interviewed and made it onto the national news.  Check them out on Youtube:
