May 16, 2017’s meeting was a varied event. The main presentation that evening was put on between Steve VA3TPS and Mike VA3MCX who discussed a few of the popular devices to get into DMR. Steve brought his SharkRF DMR/Fusion/DStar hotspot, and Mike supplied his DV4 Mini, DVMega, and MMDVM for members to peruse and discuss.
The club is currently putting together a UHF DMR station for installation at our repeater site. Lex VE3LEX has been putting it together and will be giving a presentation once it goes into operation towards the end of 2017.
Besides the main presentation, Martha brought us up to speed on our ARRL Field Day 2017 plans including the new banner we have for the event. After all this, Ralph VE3CRK and Farny VE3BHQ were presented honorary lifetime memberships for their 50 years each with the club.
