The North Shore Amateur Radio Club has successfully completed
its repeater move/consolidation project!
The new location will better serve the
amateurs of the local area as well as be a vital link in times of
emergency. The new site features better line-of-site
communications for Oshawa and southern Durham Region, automatic
switching backup emergency power capable of running for weeks on
end, ample room to consolidate our 144 and 440 repeaters and
digipeater in one location, as well as being a vital part of the
local ARES groups. Our 2m and 440 machines are fully
installed at the new site and we will be working on moving the
digipeater to this location in the near future.
The North Shore ARC would like to thank
The
Ontario Trillium Foundation for their support in this
project. Their foresight and assistance with this project will
ensure that the communities of southern Durham Region are covered
with emergency communications should a disaster ever strike our
area. It is always better to be prepared and The Ontario
Trillium Foundation has been a great partner in seeing that we are
indeed prepared for the worst.
Now that we have the 2m and 440 repeaters up and running at the
new site we would appreciate it
if you could file some signal reports for us. The handy form
below contains the info we are looking for and will get e-mailed to
us upon completion. This will help us determine where we may
have any weak signals so we can try to adjust our patterns
accordingly. Thank you for your assistance!
