Hello again everyone and a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I hope everybody had lots of turkey and enjoyed some of the warmest weather on Thanksgiving in years. It is hard to believe it is October with this great weather.

Our last meeting in September was our annual BBQ and Corn Roast also known as the Sermon on the Mount. Well this year’s event was a resounding success with over 55 guest showing up! What a great turn out and the food and company was outstanding. I want to thank a couple of people starting with our four chefs Joe VE3VGJ, Doug VA3DCE, Peter VE3PWJ, and his lovely wife Diane. A thanks to Martha VA3SBD and Clint VA3KDK for doing the shopping. A thanks to our M/C for the night Laird VE3LKS. And finally, many thanks to everyone who brought food!

For our October 17 meeting we have arranged with Hugh VE3AYR of the Vimy Commemorative Station Society to give a presentation on Vimy Ridge. Hugh is one of the operators for the special event VE100VIMY and publicity director for the event. So mark it on your calendars so you don’t miss this presentation!

If you have not heard by now Alex VE3ZSH was busy and arranged a trip for our club members and any other hams who would like to attend. The North Shore ARC has arranged to visit the Hammond Museum of Radio and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. The trip is limited to 42 people and we currently have 21 people interested. This trip is open to anyone, including members of the South Pickering ARC and Whitby ARC clubs, as well as friends and family who are interested. At this point we are taking RSVPs by email. If you wish to attend, please email Alexander VE3ZSH at contact@nycroth.com with your intended pick up location. At our October meeting we’ll be looking for a $10 lock in for the trip. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to send them his way also.

Our annual membership dues are due so please forward these to Alex VE3ZSH as soon as possible.

This is an election year for our executive and they will be held at the January 2018 meeting. Please give some thought about helping out on the executive. We need some good people to help keep our club going in the right direction!

Well that is all for now and I hope to see everyone at our meeting on Tuesday!
