From a Neater Desk: QSO Please

posted in: Presidential Address | 0

Well everyone, as I write this I am up north at the cottage, where I do most of my operating from, and I haven’t been on the radio much since last September. The Ontario QSO Party starts in a couple of hours and I hope the band conditions will allow for lots of contacts. I am looking forward to this as it has been about 10 years since I got a chance to play in the Ontario QSOP due to our Hamfest usually falling on this weekend. I have had a busy winter and now it is time to play catch up, get my chores done, and I am hoping to build some new shelves for my station and re-build my station up here. Of course, I hope to spend a lot of time on the radio.

So, remember when you get a few minutes grab the mic and/or key and hop on the air, even VHF/UHF on the repeaters. You just never know who is listening so throw your call letters out here. But most of all folks remember no matter what you are doing in the hobby, talking on the radio, DMR, APRS, building equipment, satellites or just plain listening… HAVE FUN, be patient and remember it is a hobby!

Okay I have to make a pot coffee and head out to the shed to get ready. Hope to see everyone on Tuesday.
