Our Summer Kick Off BBQ was a great evening. There was a slight cloud cover that kept us from being roasted by the sun, the food was good as always, and lots of lively conversation ensued.
It was great to have Walter VA3WYC and his family join us as they made the trek from the Philippines just to come to the BBQ. Well, I think they were visiting family too! 🙂 We also had another young man from Vietnam, who is studying at UOIT, join us as well. People come from far and wide to attend some of our events. 🙂
We were pleasantly surprised to have Marian join us. Marian’s husband Dave VE3GUD (SK) was our club president for several years and we owe a debt of gratitude for his love and service to the North Shore ARC. Thanks, also, to Marian as she had to put up with the executive committee taking over her home a few times a year. Marian was always a fantastic host. We hope Marian continues to join us at our events.
